    What's the story

Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry will most likely take over the reigns of French Ligue 1 team Monaco as head coach, reports suggest.

He will be succeeding Leonardo Jardim, who was sacked after Monaco made a poor start to the season and are presently sitting on 18th spot on the Ligue 1 table.

L'Equipe has reported that he will sign a three-year deal.

    Belgium

Henry has been working as Belgium's assistant coach

The World Cup winner was working as Belgium coach Roberto Martinez's assistant when he was approached by Monaco for the job.

He was also seen in the World Cup with Belgium.

He, probably, finished his tenure with them after the Belgium vs Switzerland Nations League game on Friday.

Henry has been with the Belgium national side since 2016.

    Return

Henry started his professional career at Monaco, joining as a 13-year-old.

He immediately showed his class, being named the 1996 French Young Footballer of The Year.

He was with Monaco when he was called-up for the national team and was a part of Zidane-led squad that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

David Trezeguet, Emmanuel Petit, and Fabien Barthez played alongside him at Monaco.

    Career

Henry has a decorated career under his belt

Henry's career as a player is one of the most illustrious in French history.

He was the part of the 'Invincibles' Arsenal squad which won the 2003-04 Premier League going undefeated throughout the tournament.

He won the European Golden Shoe twice (2003-04, 2004-05) and the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions (2001-02, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06).

Henry is also a 'Legion of Honour' recipient.
