Solskjaer can become United's manager if they defeat PSG
Manchester United will be facing Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League round of 16. Presumably, United's top-brass have decided that they will offer Solskjaer the managerial job permanently if he manages to pull them into the UCL quarterfinals. Though it was believed Mauricio Pochettino was United's first choice as their permanent manager, Solskjaer's performance with United has changed opinions at Old Trafford.
At Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been doing a fantastic job after taking over from Jose Mourinho. United are yet to lose a match under him, having drawn only one match so far. They have slain giants of England like Arsenal and Tottenham. Moreover, players like Pogba, who were poor under Mourinho, have flourished under, producing some of their finest performances.
Neymar Jr. suffered an ankle injury in a Coupe de France match against Strasbourg. PSG said that the Brazilian is suffering from a "recurrence of his injury to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot" Their manager Thomas Tuchel recently admitted that it will be very difficult for Neymar to play against Manchester United. United will have a huge advantage if Neymar can't play.
Solskjaer is himself a legend of the club, and he seems to have connected well with the players. He seems to have been able to infuse a sense of belonging within the club and players, and this is getting reflected in the performance. United are playing brilliant passing football, with players like Rashford, Lingard, and Martial also scoring crucial goals.
The first match between Manchester United and PSG is scheduled for February 13, and will be held at Old Trafford. The return leg is scheduled to take place on March 7 and will be held at the Parc des Princes.
