What's the story

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to retain the 50-over format for the Under-19 Men's World Cup. The decision was made at a Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) meeting on Thursday, November 5. The CEC also discussed players' naming and image rights in mobile gaming but didn't favor involving the World Cricketers' Association (WCA) in ICC's upcoming gaming project.

Tournament

Under-19 World Cup

As mentioned, the Under-19 World Cup will continue to be held in the ODI format. This comes after several Associate Members had proposed the T20 format. However, the Full Members supported the incumbent ODI structure. Therefore, the Under-19 World Cup format will remain intact. The tournament's 2026 edition will be held in Namibia and Zimbabwe.
