Ravindra Jadeja departed thereafter, managing just four. India were reduced to 148/6. For the Lankans, Embuldeniya claimed both the wickets. Jadeja got out, playing a cut shot.
Iyer and Ashwin add 35 runs as Lanka impress
India found some comfort in the former of Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin. Iyer found his range and played as per the situation. He played an aggressive knock, keeping the scorecard ticking along nicely. Ashwin supported him with a knock of 13 from 33 balls (35-run stand). Ashwin was dismissed ny Dhananjaya de Silva. Axar Patel came in next and departed cheaply.
Iyer smashes a whirlwind 92-run knock
Iyer deserves all the credit for standing tall and scoring a positive 92-run knock. He was the reason behind India getting past 250. The 27-year-old struck his second fifty in Tests. The knock will give Iyer confidence. He smashed 10 fours and four sixes.
