India are the new champions of the Intercontinental Cup after they secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Kenya in the final in Mumbai. Indian captain Sunil Chhetri was the decisive factor yet again as he scored a brace to seal the victory for the Blue Tigers. Over 18,000 fans came out in support of the Indian team. Young Anirudh Thapa took a brilliant free-kick low into the box and Sunil Chhetri was there to make the most of it. He smashed it past the Kenyan keeper. A beautiful flick from the free-kick helped India take an early lead.

Chhetri sent the Indian fans into a frenzy when he doubled India's lead in the 29th minute. He converted a long diagonal pass, from Anas Edathodika, into a perfect goal. The Indian captain's first touch was fabulous. He chested the ball down with perfection before slotting it past the goal-keeper.
