Team India to train under lights in Indore: Details here

Team India and Bangladesh will play their maiden Day-Night Test at the Eden Gardens, starting November 22. SG pink balls will be used in this historic Test match in India. Ahead of the match at Eden, the first Test is scheduled to be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Team India is set to train under lights in Indore itself. Here's more.

India to practice under lights on Tuesday in Indore

"The Indian Team will be practicing with the pink ball under lights from 5 pm to 6 pm today (Tuesday) against a black sight-screen," MPCA head curator Samandar Singh Chouhan told Hindustan Times. "We have got this request and have made the preparations accordingly."

SG had delivered first batch of pink balls last weekend

Earlier, BCCI had ordered pink balls from SG and it has been revealed that the company had delivered the first batch of the same last weekend. The Test match at Eden will mark the first official appearance of SG pink balls. The pink balls used in the Duleep Trophy between 2016-18 seasons, were manufactured by Kookaburra.

Only a handful of Indian cricketers have played D/N Tests

For Team India, majority of the cricketers will be playing with the pink ball for the first time in their careers. However, the likes of Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, and wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav have experience of playing with the Kookaburra pink ball in Duleep Trophy. It remains to be seen how the SG pink balls shape up at the Eden Gardens.

D/N Test: Pujara, Rahane speak about the challenges

The Day-Night Test match will present challenges for cricketers with many playing the format for the first time. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane went on to speak about the challenges. Pujara stated that visibility will be an issue in twilight and under lights. Whereas, Rahane said training ahead of the match will be crucial to get familiar with the situation.

Indian cricketers practice with SG pink balls in Bengaluru

Meanwhile, several Indian cricketers were seen practicing with the SG pink ball under lights at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. The likes of Mayank, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Rahane and Pujara hit the nets under the guidance of former Indian skipper and NCA Head of Cricket, Rahul Dravid. With just a three-day gap between the two Tests, the practice sessions have been organized.
