Liverpool vs Chelsea: Preview, Dream11 and more

Liverpool will be tested immensely by rivals Chelsea when the two sides meet at Anfield for a mouth-watering Premier League clash on Sunday. With Manchester City playing earlier in the evening, a win for Pep Guardiola's side will keep Liverpool on their toes in this must-win scenario. There is everything to play for as the race for Premier League battle intensifies. Here's more.

How is the battle shaping up for the league toppers?

Liverpool are ahead at the moment with 82 points from 33 matches. City stay second on 80 points, but they have played a match less. If City win their match, then they will climb to the top. Liverpool need to win to keep the pressure on. A loss for the Reds would open up a significant gap, given City win their game in hand.

    Team news and selection

Andrew Robertson is set to return as the left-back after missing out the Champions League tie with suspension. Liverpool will also have Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana available. For Chelsea, a call on Callum Hudson-Odoi will need to be taken.

View point: What the managers had to say

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said, "I feel the positive energy. It's a massive change from surprise we are up there to getting used to it and getting more confident." Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said, "We know well the risks of this match but we also know that when we are able to play at 100% of our potential, we can gain points anywhere."

Stat attack: All the important numbers you need to know

Liverpool have not beaten Chelsea in their past five league and cup games (D3, L2). Klopp's men are unbeaten in their last 37 home league games. Liverpool have scored 21 Premier League goals in the final 15 minutes in EPL matches this term. Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been directly involved in 28 league goals this season (goals 16, assists 12).

Dream11: We go in with a 4-2-3-1 formation

Liverpool's Alisson Becker leads the line in goal. Trent Alexander Arnold and Marcos Alonso are the right and left-back respectively. The central partnership consists of Antonio Rudiger and Virgil van Dijk. N'Golo Kante and Jordan Henderson form the mid-field. Pedro and Sadio Mane (captain) offer the width in attack.
