WI batters struggled in the first innings

Roston Chase was the only one who managed to stay at the crease for a while, scoring 38 runs. The visitors were eventually bowled out for just 161 in 36.2 overs. While Henry trapped four batters, Jacob Duffy and Mitchell Santner chipped in with two wickets each.

New Zealand's shaky start and Chapman's recovery

In response, New Zealand also had a rocky start, losing their top three batters with just 32 runs on the board. Chapman then steadied the ship with two crucial partnerships. He added 38 runs with Tom Latham and then a match-winning 75-run stand with Michael Bracewell. Chapman scored an impressive 64 off just 63 balls while Bracewell remained unbeaten on 40 off 31 balls as the Kiwis (162/6) crossed the line in just 30.3 overs.
