  • Suraj Desai emerged as the costliest player on the second day of the Pro Kabaddi League auction that starts in July.

    He was bought by Delhi Dabang for Rs 52.5 lakh. It was also the highest bid for a Category B player.

    About Rs 46.99 crores were spent on more than 227 players as the two day auction came to an end.

  • The fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League will commence from 28 July 2017 and will be a 13 week long affair, featuring more than 130 matches.

    Four new teams from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat have been added this year, taking the total number of teams to 12.

    The prize money for the winning team has been raised to Rs 3 crore.

  • India's Nitin Tomar emerged as the costliest player on the first day of the auction of the 2017 Pro Kabaddi League. Even though he had a base price of Rs 20 lakh, he was bought by Team UP for an Rs 93 lakh.

    Besides Nitin, Rohit Kumar and Manjeet Chillar were few other Indian players who raked up more than Rs 75 lakh.

  • Newly formed franchise Tamil Nadu bought 25 (22 Indian, 3 Overseas) players to become the biggest team for the upcoming season of PKL.

    They are followed by Team Haryana with 22 players and Dabang Delhi with 20 players in their squad.

    Puneri Paltan has the smallest squad with 15 players, while other teams have filled their minimum quota of 18 players.
