Pakistan captain Saud Shakeel has completed 1,000 runs in Test cricket. The left-handed batter reached the three-figure mark on Day 1 of the 3rd Test against Pakistan in Sydney. Shakeel has become the fastest Pakistan batter to touch the 1,000-run mark in the format.

As mentioned, Shakeel became the joint-fastest Pakistan player to complete 1,000 runs in Test cricket. He achieved the mark in his 20th innings. Saeed Ahmed held the previous record, having taken 20 innings for the same. Sadiq Mohammad (22 innings)and Javed Miandad (23 innings) are next on the list among Pakistan players.

Shakeel slams his 3rd Test century
Shakeel made his Test debut in December 2022 against England. In 11 matches, Shakeel averages 68-plus currently. In addition to three tons, he also owns six fifties. This is Shakeel's maiden outing against the Tigers. Notably, Shakeel owns over 5,700 runs in FC cricket. He hammered his 20th century in the longest format.
