3rd ODI, SA Women beat India Women (D/L): Records broken

An incredible knock by Lizelle Lee helped South Africa Women beat the Indian women's team in the 3rd ODI. Her astonishing ton powered the run-chase for the visitors. Notably, rain stopped the play as the match proceeded toward a thrilling end. However, the tourists ended up winning by six runs (DLS method). With this, South Africa Women now lead the five-match ODI series 2-1.

How did the match pan out?

Indian openers departed early after SA Women elected to field in the 3rd ODI. However, Punam Raut (77) and Mithali Raj (36) rescued the innings, with the former completing her fifty. With notable contributions from the middle-order, India managed to put up 248/5 in 50 overs. Although the Indian bowlers too made early inroads, they couldn't uproot Lee, who propelled SA Women to victory.

First Indian batswoman with 10,000 international runs

During the match, captain Mithali became the first Indian batswoman to complete 10,000 runs in international cricket. Overall, she became only the second player in women's cricket to have achieved this milestone. With 10,001 international runs, she is presently the second-highest run-getter after England's Charlotte Edwards, who owns 10,273 runs. Notably, Mithali is already the leading run-scorer in women's ODIs.

    A special innings by Lee

Lizelle Lee's brilliant 132* took the game away from Team India. Even as wickets kept falling on the other end, Lee continued with her exploits. Her 131-ball knock comprised of 16 fours and 2 sixes. Notably, her 132* has become the third-highest score in women's ODIs against India, and the fourth-highest ever in a women's ODI run-chase.

    Third ODI ton for Lee

Lee went on to slam her third hundred in ODI cricket (women's). Notably, all of her tons have been registered away from home. She is the only woman to have made ODI centuries away from home against all three opponents; Australia, England and India.

Goswami shines; Mansi, Poonam endure poor results

Indian pace spearhead Jhulan Goswami yet again hogged the limelight with her resounding spell. She picked up two wickets, having conceded only 20 runs in nine overs. However, Mansi Joshi (0/43 in five overs) and Poonam Yadav (0/51 in 10 overs) had a forgettable outings. Interestingly, this is the most runs Yadav has conceded without taking a wicket in an ODI innings.
