Reasons why Manchester United should sell Paul Pogba
2018 FIFA World Cup winner Paul Pogba has been a constant source of speculation as far his the transfer rumors are concerned. Moreover, his agent Mino Raiola has also flirted with a move away from Old Trafford. When the summer transfer window resumes, there will be a lot of focus on the Frenchman. We decode why United should free him.
Pogba wants Man United exit
There is no use keeping a player who has doubts regarding his stay at a club. Pogba wanted to make a move in the summer of 2019, however, things didn't go as planned. With Real Madrid and Juventus interested in the player, the Frenchman could once again be tempted to depart and enjoy a new challenge. United should not keep someone who's unhappy.
It's unclear when will the transfer window open
At the moment, it is unclear when the transfer window will reopen because of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic which has claimed more than 16,000 lives. The majority of Europe's top leagues have also been suspended and will not resume for at least another month.
Pogba's contract situation and why United should cash in
United want to keep Pogba and have an option to extend his contract. Pogba's current deal ends next summer. Pogba has missed majority of the 2019-20 season due to injury and is currently recovering. His agent will once again push for a move and the club should get the maximum from a deal which is expected to draw a huge sum.
United can thrive in mid-field without Pogba
In Pogba's absence, the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic have performed well. Moreover, Bruno Fernandes' acquisition as the number 10 adds more depth in mid-field. Pogba is world class, however, he is also very inconsistent. The club should use his funds and get in an exciting talent like Aston Villa's Jack Grealish. United should use their resources well.
