What's the story

The Indian women's cricket team is chasing history as they prepare to face South Africa in the final of the ICC Women's World Cup. The match will be held at the iconic DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. This will be India's third appearance in a World Cup final, and eyes will be on their in-form opener Smriti Mandhana. On this note, we decode Mandhana's WODI numbers against South Africa.

Stats

Third-most runs versus SA in WODIs

Having played 19 WODIs against the South African team as per ESPNcricinfo, Mandhana has smashed 929 runs at an average of 51.61. Only England's Charlotte Edwards (1,318) and Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu (944) have more runs against the Proteas. Hence, Madhana can become just the second batter to complete 1,000 WODI runs against SA. Her tally against the team includes three tons and five fifties.

DYK
