Five most infamous firings of WWE wrestlers and officials

"You're fired" seems to be the favorite phrase of Vince McMahon. It has become sort of a catchline of the WWE chairman. Whether kayfabe or real, McMahon is known to be a tyrannical figure, and when you cross the boss, he will surely cross your name out from the list of employees. Here are the five most infamous WWE firings ever.

When Paul Heyman was shown the door

Paul Heyman is known as one of the greatest minds in pro-wrestling. He was quite successful with his own promotion, Extreme Championship Wrestling before McMahon bought the company. Heyman reformed Extreme Championship Wrestling in 2001 (kayfabe), and when McMahon came to know this, Heyman was called out to the ring, and after being berated, was told the magical words- "You're fired", by McMahon.

Chris Jericho was fired after losing to Cena

John Cena and Chris Jericho were having a really well-worked out feud in 2005 which culminated in a 'You're fired' match. Eric Bischoff was the general manager of Raw, and he was hoping that Cena would be the one who will end up losing. After Jericho lost, Bischoff, exasperated, fired Y2J, and the pleading Jericho was carried away by security guards.

Vickie Guerrero got her revenge before being fired

The late Eddie Guerrero's wife, Vickie, was hired by WWE after her husband's death. She developed quite a powerful onscreen personality for herself. Guerrero was supposed to face Stephanie McMahon in a bout where the stipulation was such that the loser would be thrown into a pool of mud. Guerrero lost and was fired, but she managed to throw Stephanie into the pool.

Shawn Michaels was fired from his post of commissioner

Shawn Michaels was out of action for a long time after he was heavily injured in a match against The Undertaker. It was believed that his in-ring career was over, and he was given the kayfabe position as the WWE's commissioner. However, McMahon decided to fire him, showing footage of his incompetence. Michaels, not some who takes insults lightly, superkicked McMahon before leaving.

Tables turn, Eric Bischoff fired in a humiliating way

2005 saw Eric Bischoff being evaluated by McMahon after he had spent a considerable time as the Raw general manager. Throughout an episode of Raw, McMahon's evaluation process carried on, with him constantly humiliating Bischoff. At the end of the episode, while Bischoff was pleading for his job, McMahon fired him and made John Cena give him the Attitude Adjustment into a garbage truck.
