Reliving the top ODI clashes between India and Bangladesh

    What's the story

Two-time champions India are all set to take on Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2019 on Tuesday.

The match is important for both these teams, given how the points table has shaped up.

However, this won't be the first time these two sides would be clashing in an important match, as we take a look at the top clashes between them.

    Dhaka

Bangladesh's first-ever ODI win over India

In 2004, during India's tour of Bangladesh, the hosts stood up against India in the second ODI.

Bangladesh put up an average total of 229/9, courtesy Aftab Ahmed's 67.

Having lost a couple in the opening power-play, Tapash Baisya, Mohammad Rafique, Khaled Mahmud and Mashrafe Mortaza rattled the Indian batsmen.

As India fell short by 15 runs, Bangladesh registered first-ever over India.

    2014

No score is too low to defend

Star-less India were bundled for 105 in Dhaka 2014, courtesy Taskin Ahmed's deadly 5/28.

The curtailed tie amidst rainy conditions had made the pitch favorable for the bowlers, leading to India's collapse.

However, India found a way out to defend the total, as Stuart Binny's spell of 6/4 and Mohit Sharma's 4/22 proved to be a nightmare for the hosts, losing by 47 runs.

    Birmingham 2017

India make a mockery of Bangladeshi bowling attack

In 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, Bangladesh were on a roll, as they reached the semis to face India.

Bangladesh, being one of the favorites, put up a splendid show with the bat, scoring 264/7, courtesy of half-centuries by Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim.

However, Indian batsmen made a mockery of their bowling attack as they won by nine wickets.

    A proper definition of domination!

    Port of Spain

The day Bangladesh broke a million hearts

This has to be the most talked about clash between the sides.

The 2007 World Cup saw producing a poor performance, as they were bundled for mere 191 against Bangladesh, courtesy Mortaza's 4/38.

In reply, three half-centuries from Tamim, Mushfiqur and Shakib Al Hasan ensured Bangladesh cause an upset.

The loss demoralized India so badly that they were later ousted from the group stage.

    Dhaka 2011

With big failure comes great success

While the ghost of 2007 haunted the Indian team for the next four years, the 2011 World Cup saw the payback.

The opening game saw India decimate the Bangladeshi bowling attack, posting a mammoth 370/4, courtesy twin centuries by Virender Sehwag (175) and Virat Kohli (100*).

In reply, Bangladesh did fight back, but Munaf Patel's 4/48 proved too much.

    Payback served.
