Watford vs Manchester United: Who would come out on top?

Manchester United and Watford will lock horns tonight in their Premier League fixture. This game looks set to be a cracker as Watford will try hard to continue their unbeaten run and stretch it to five matches in a row, whereas, United will want to climb higher the league table after suffering two losses early in the season. Here is our detailed pre-match report.

    Interesting facts about this fixture

United and Watford have clashed a total of 10 times in Premier League. Notably, Watford have managed to win only once, while United have scripted nine victories. Of all the teams Manchester United have faced in the history of English league (10 or more matches), they have their second-highest winning percentage against Watford (90%). Mourinho has won his last three encounters against Watford.

Manchester United team news: How are Red Devils shaping up?

Rashford will not participate in this fixture after being handed a red in United's last match. Luke Shaw is expected to play despite suffering a concussion during England's match against Spain, last weekend. Ander Herrera's ankle and Fellaini's back will keep them away from tonight's action. Mourinho will probably opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Lukaku leading the charge as the lone striker.

The Hornets: Are they ready to face the challenge?

Except for mid-fielder Tom Cleverley and winger Gerard Deulofeu, Watford have no other injury concern before their match against United. Watford's manager Javi Garcia, who has shaken things up, can play a 4-4-2 formation while using his left and right mid-fielders higher up the pitch. Gray and Deeney will be leading their attack against Mourinho's team.

Who are the players to watch out for?

Watford's Pereyra has already netted in thrice in their four Premier League matches. He will look forward to adding another strike to his account tonight. Lukaku, though he has scored 3 goals as well, has been under fire for missing numerous chances against Tottenham. He will have to prove his merit this term. David de Gea also has to step up his game.

    Predicted lineup and TV listing

Watford: Foster, Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas, Hughes, Doucoure, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gray. Manchester United: David de Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Matic, Fred, Pogba, Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez. The match will be telecast at 10:00 PM IST and fans can watch it on Star Sports Select, Star Sports Select HD, and Hotstar.
