WPL auction: Sophie Devine acquired by GG for ₹2 crore

Gujarat Giants have acquired star New Zealand all-rounder Sophie Devine at the 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL) mega auction. Sophie Devine, who earlier represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), bagged a ₹2 crore deal with GG. Devine made her WPL debut in 2023 for RCB. She scored 266 runs in eight innings that season at an average of 33.25 and a strike rate of 172.72. Her performance in WPL 2024 was disappointing. She scored 136 runs in 10 innings at an average of 15.11 (SR: 125.92). In 18 WPL matches, she has scored 402 runs and taken nine wickets.
