The storm is expected to make landfall in Aurora province in central Luzon by Sunday night. Images from the Philippine Coast Guard in Camarines Sur showed evacuees transferring from passenger boats to trucks. More than 300 domestic and international flights have been canceled due to the storm, according to civil aviation regulators. A video shared by ABS-CBN News on X showed stormy conditions in Catanduanes province with tree branches swaying violently and strong rain pounding the area.

Fung-wong comes days after Kalmaegi killed over 200 people
Super Typhoon Fung-wong comes just days after Typhoon Kalmaegi devastated the Philippines, killing 204 people. The typhoon then hit Vietnam, killing five more and damaging coastal communities. In Vung Cheo village in central Vietnam on Saturday, fishing vessels were seen wrecked along the main road as lobster farms were washed away or damaged.
