India-bound 2020 Yamaha MT-03 (sports bike) unveiled: Details here

Yamaha has unveiled the 2020 edition of its sports bike, the MT-03. The naked tourer will debut at the upcoming EICMA show in November this year and is expected to be launched in India sometime in 2020. The next-generation model gets a bunch of design updates including a new headlamp cluster, angular fuel tank, and looks sportier. However, mechanically, it remains unchanged.

    2020 Yamaha MT-03: At a glance

The 2020 Yamaha MT-03 comes with a naked sporty look featuring a dual-tone color scheme, angular fuel tank, a new headlamp design, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The motorcycle gets an all-LED lighting setup for headlight, DRLs, turn indicators, and taillamps. Moreover, it is offered in Ice Fluo, Icon Blue, and Midnight Black color options.

    Power and performance

The Yamaha MT-03 is powered by a 321cc parallel-twin, DOHC engine which is capable of producing 42PS of power at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm. For transmission duties, it gets a six-speed manual gearbox.

Here's a look at the safety and suspension setup

On the safety front, the Yamaha MT-03 comes equipped with 298mm disc brake on the front, 220mm disc brake on the rear, and dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding while braking. Also, the motorcycle gets 37mm upside-down forks on the front and a monoshock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.

Finally, what will be the pricing?

There is no word about the Yamaha MT-03's price as of now. However, we expect it to be priced at around Rs. 3 lakh in India and take on the likes of KTM 390 Duke and Honda CB300R.
