2022 KTM 790 DUKE launched: Check features and price

Austrian automaker KTM has introduced the 2022 version of its 790 DUKE motorbike in the global markets. It is unclear whether it will arrive in India. As for the highlights, the bike has an aggressive look and offers several electronic riding aids, including engine drag torque control. It runs on a 799cc, liquid-cooled mill that puts out a maximum power of 105hp.
- KTM 790 DUKE was discontinued and replaced by the 890 DUKE in 2021. Now, it has made a comeback for the 2022 model year with minimal cosmetic changes.
- Its good looks and decent features should attract a lot of buyers in the overseas markets. If it arrives here, it will be as a completely built unit (CBU). The competition in the market will increase.
The 2022 KTM 790 DUKE flaunts a sculpted fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up seat, a low-set handlebar, and an under-belly exhaust with a stainless steel finish. The motorcycle packs an LED headlight with an integrated LED DRL, a full-color TFT instrument cluster, and rides on blacked-out wheels. It is up for grabs in an orange and a gray-black shade.
The new KTM 790 DUKE runs on a Euro 5-compliant 799cc, LC8c, in-line, two-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine linked to a 6-speed gearbox and a quickshifter. The mill makes 105hp/87Nm. An A2-specific 95hp variant is also available in Europe.
The KTM 790 DUKE is equipped with disc brakes, along with ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, cornering ABS, stability control, engine slip control, and cruise control. It also gets four riding modes, namely Sport, Street, Rain, and Track. Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by inverted telescopic forks on the front side and a shock absorber on the rear end.
In Europe, the 2022 KTM 790 DUKE sports bike bears a price-figure of €8,999 (around Rs. 7.54 lakh). However, no details pertaining to the two-wheeler's pricing and availability in India have been disclosed.
