What's the story

Japanese automaker Yamaha has launched the 2022 version of the Vino scooter in its home country. It will be up for grabs there from next month. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler bears a quirky look and offers dual apron-mounted storage spaces as well as an oval-shaped headlight. It draws power from a 49cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 4.4hp of power.

Context

Why does this story matter?

The 2022 Yamaha Vino has a sporty design and lots of features. It is tipped to attract a lot of buyers in the Japanese market. However, it is unclear whether the vehicle will make its way to our shores as it seems too costly for the Indian market. If the two-wheeler comes here, it will serve as a good addition to the two-wheeler segment.

Design

The scooter is available in six shades

The 2022 Yamaha Vino sports a headlight and indicator-mounted front apron, a flat footboard, a single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, a side-mounted exhaust, and round mirrors. The vehicle packs an oval-shaped semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12V charging port, and a 20-liter under-seat storage compartment. It is offered in six color options, including the new Light Blue and Matte Green shades.

Information

It is fueled by a 4hp, 49cc engine

The new Yamaha Vino is powered by a 49cc, single-cylinder engine linked to an idle stop-start system. The mill churns out a maximum power of 4.4hp and a peak torque of 4.1Nm.

Safety

There are drum brakes on both the ends

In terms of safety equipment, the 2022 Yamaha Vino is equipped with drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with a combined braking system to avoid skidding on the roads while braking. Suspension duties on the scooter are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front end and a mono-shock unit on the rear side.
