BMW's 1st all-electric iX5 due early 2027 with 572hp
Auto
BMW's first all-electric X5, the iX5, is set to launch in early 2027 and it's bringing some serious power: a huge battery (144 kWh for the US 141 kWh for Europe) and dual motors that crank out 572hp.
So yeah, this SUV isn't just about saving fuel: it's built to perform.
BMW to offer multiple X5 powertrains
The iX5 rides on BMW's upgraded platform with next-generation eDrive technology and an 800-volt system. Testing is already underway in the US
Plus, BMW isn't stopping at electric: by 2028 you'll see hydrogen (developed with Toyota), gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrid versions of the X5 too.
The new lineup also gets fresh design touches like "Snake Eye" LED headlights and a panoramic display.
