Huawei-JAC's Maextro S800 is shaking up China's luxury car scene
Huawei and JAC Group's Maextro S800 sedan has quickly become the top-selling luxury sedan for high-end car buyers in China since its launch in May 2025.
With prices ranging from 708,000 to 1,018,000 yuan ($98,600-$144,450), it's leading the market for sedans above 700,000 yuan.
Sales numbers that turn heads
The S800 made a splash with over 1,000 orders in its first hour and hit 10,000 units sold within just 200 days—outpacing rivals like Porsche Panamera and BMW 7 Series for several months straight.
Who's buying—and what's next?
Most buyers are wealthy men in their 40s and 50s who used to drive brands like Rolls-Royce or Porsche.
Thanks to Huawei's tech-packed drivetrain, the S800 offers up to 635 kW of power.
Analysts predict it could grab a fifth of China's premium car market soon, with annual sales possibly reaching up to 100,000 units.
