Jaguar Land Rover to build cars in US with Stellantis
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is making a big move: for the first time, they're planning to build cars in the US teaming up with Stellantis.
The goal is to seriously ramp up American sales: JLR wants to grow them to the size of the entire JLR business as it exists today.
Right now, the US makes up about 30% of their worldwide sales.
Land Rover's Defender on EMA platform
Production kicks off with the Land Rover Defender, which will be made on a new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform and offered as both hybrid and all-electric.
This also means JLR can avoid Slovakia's hefty import tariffs.
Looking ahead, JLR plans to reveal its first EMA-based electric vehicle later this year; Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will get hybrid and electric versions too.
Meanwhile, Discovery keeps evolving true to its roots, and Jaguar's going fully electric with a new four-door GT arriving in 2026.
