Maruti Suzuki Dzire tops India sales FY2026 with 230,000 units
Maruti Suzuki Dzire took the top spot as India's best-selling car for FY2026, with 230,000 units sold.
This stands out because SUVs dominated 66% of the market, yet Dzire (a sedan) still led the pack.
Maruti's mix of models seems to click with all kinds of buyers.
Maruti Suzuki records over 2.4 million sales
Maruti Suzuki hit its highest-ever sales in FY2026 (April 2025-March 2026), moving about 2.423 million cars (24.23 lakh), including exports.
The company now owns 57.2% of the sedan market, up from 45.8% in FY2017.
Senior executive Partho Banerjee says staying present across all vehicle types is key.
Even as SUVs stay popular, he is confident sedans like Dzire will keep drawing buyers.
Looking to FY2027, Maruti expects a 5% growth in the passenger car market and maintaining a presence across body styles with a technologically agnostic approach.
