Nissan is bringing real-time AI to its cars with Wayve

Auto

Nissan just announced a partnership with UK startup Wayve to add next-gen AI tech to future car models.
Unlike older systems that need pre-set maps, Wayve's AI reacts in real time, making driver-assist features smarter and more flexible.
This is Wayve's first big deal with a car company.

What's next?

The new AI will power Nissan's ProPILOT driver-assist system, starting in Japan in fiscal 2027 and then rolling out to North America.
The companies already showed off a prototype in September combining Wayve's software with Nissan sensors.
While Wayve is also testing its tech with Uber, this move indicates Nissan's commitment to staying ahead in the global race for smarter cars.
