Porsche 911 GT3 is now faster, more powerful than before
What's the story
Porsche has unveiled an upgraded version of its 911 GT3, the 992.2 model, with a new Manthey kit. The upgrade comes from Manthey Racing, a company in which Porsche has held a majority stake since 2013. The latest kit doesn't touch the engine but enhances the car's track performance and reduces lap times by improving aerodynamics and other features.
Aerodynamic improvements
Manthey kit enhances 911 GT3's aerodynamics
The Manthey kit adds carbon-fiber aero disks to the rear wheels of the 911 GT3, reducing drag. These disks create an asymmetrical wheel design illusion, but the forged wheels underneath have the same pattern. The lightweight set in this package uses 20-inch fronts and 21-inch rears, shedding approximately 6kg over the original set.

The Manthey kit also provides a four-way coilover suspension with tool-free adjustable struts, braided steel brake lines, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R street-legal tires. These upgrades are designed to enhance the car's performance on the track. The rear wing of the 911 GT3 has been made wider with a gurney flap for improved aerodynamics.

The kit boosts downforce and reduces lap times
The Manthey kit significantly boosts the 911 GT3's downforce, generating up to 540kg in a track-only setup. The upgraded car has also cut its Nurburgring lap time by an impressive 2.76 seconds compared to its predecessor.

What about its availability?
The Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 will be available in the United States starting next spring. It won't void the car's factory warranty and can be installed by over 40 Manthey-certified Porsche dealers across the country. While pricing details are yet to be revealed, the kit for the previous model started at $57,300 (excluding taxes and dealer installation).
