Honda pulls the plug on Activa e: and QC1 electric scooters

Auto

Honda has stopped making its Activa e: and QC1 electric scooters in India, just months after their February 2025 launch.
The move comes after disappointing sales—out of over 11,000 units produced by July, less than half reached dealers.
Most buyers picked the more affordable QC1, while the Activa e: struggled to find takers.

What went wrong?

The QC1's lower price and easy home-charging made it a favorite, but the Activa e: was limited to just three cities with Honda's battery-swapping stations.
Both models faced tough competition from rivals like TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, which are perceived as offering better performance and have broader availability.
Now, Honda is rethinking its EV game plan for India.
