Porsche Cayenne S arrives as a powerful electric SUV
What's the story
Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne S Electric, a new mid-tier variant of its popular electric SUV. The latest addition sits between the base model with a power output of 435hp and the Turbo variant that offers an impressive 1,139hp. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive system of the new trim produces a standard output of 536hp, but can be pushed up to a whopping 657hp with launch control activated.
Performance
It can go from 10-80% charge in under 16 minutes
The Cayenne S Electric can go from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250km/h. It comes with the same battery as other two trims, offering a usable capacity of 108kWh and charging at up to 400kW. Porsche claims that this SUV can go from 10-80% charge in under 16 minutes. The model also borrows its cooling system from the Turbo variant.
Design
It features 20-inch aero-style wheels
The Cayenne S Electric has subtle exterior differences with trim elements finished in Volcano Gray Metallic on the front and rear fascias. It comes standard with 21-inch Aero Design wheels but also offers model-specific 20-inch aero-style rims at no cost. Porsche will offer a total of 13 exterior paint colors for customers to choose from, adding to the customization options available for this new electric SUV.
Handling
The SUV comes with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for handling
The Cayenne S Electric is available with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for better handling and Porsche Active Ride, the brand's adaptive dampers. You can also opt for ceramic composite brakes with yellow-painted calipers. The Sport Chrono package gives you a Push-to-Pass function that adds an extra 120hp for up to 10 seconds at a time. The model is already available to order at a starting price of $128,650 (around ₹1.2 crore).
