Tata Altroz Dark XT, XZ+ launched at Rs. 8 lakh
To celebrate the second anniversary of the Altroz hatchback in India, Tata Motors has launched the Dark edition of the XT and XZ+ variants. Their bookings are open. As for the highlights, the two models sport cosmetic changes both inside and out and offer lots of features. Under the hood, they are powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine that makes 88.7hp of power.
Why does this story matter?
- More than 1.2 lakh units of the Tata Altroz hatchback have been sold in India and its petrol-guzzling XZ+ Dark variant was introduced last July.
- Now, by offering the diesel-powered XT and XZ+ Dark edition models, the company wants to raise the car's appeal among buyers. The competition in the market should also be raised to a great extent.
The car has black paintwork and alloy wheels
Tata Altroz Dark XT and XZ+ have a sculpted bonnet, a sleek grille, a wide air dam, sweptback headlights with DRLs, 'Dark' badging on the front fender, and gloss black paintwork. On the sides, it is flanked by B-pillars, ORVMs, and dark-tinted alloy wheels. A roof-mounted antenna, a raked windscreen, a window wiper, and wrap-around taillamps grace the rear section of the vehicle.
The Altroz gets three engine options
Tata Altroz runs on a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter diesel engine that makes 88.7hp/200Nm, a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol unit that churns out 108.5hp/140Nm, and a 1.2-liter petrol mill that generates 84.8hp/113Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The vehicle gets perforated leatherette seats and flat-bottom steering wheel
Tata Altroz Dark XT and XZ+ have a spacious blacked-out cabin, featuring blue accents on the dashboard, perforated leatherette seats, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a leather-wrapped gear knob as well as a flat-bottom steering wheel. It houses a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Multiple airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Brake Sway Control ensure the passengers' safety.
