Tata Sierra's record-breaking sales in just 2 months
Tata Motors's Sierra SUV is off to a flying start: over 14,000 units sold in just two months.
Bookings opened last December and the hype was real: 70,000 people signed up in the first 24 hours.
Deliveries rolled out by mid-January, and by February's end, Tata had already crossed the 14,000 mark.
How much does the Sierra cost?
The Sierra starts at ₹11.49 lakh and goes up to ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
It's built at Tata's Sanand plant in Gujarat and is offered with petrol (including a new 1.5-litre turbo and a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre) and diesel engine options.
The Sierra made up 11% of all Tata passenger car sales during January-February this year.
Tata Motors's domestic sales jumped 34% (YoY) in February
Tata Motors saw a big boost overall, with domestic sales jumping 34% year-over-year in February to over 62,000 cars.
The Sierra was their third bestseller after Nexon and Punch, and it held its own against popular competitors like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos.
