Pham Sanh Chau, the CEO of VinFast Asia, has emphasized the huge potential of India's electric two-wheeler market. He said, "We believe that the Indian market has huge potential for electric two-wheelers. We have a plan to launch two-wheelers in India in 2026." The company currently sells more than six models of electric scooters across South Asia.

VinFast's market research and dealership interest

VinFast is conducting a feasibility study to understand the Indian market and its requirements. Chau said, "We are in the process of collecting inputs and feedback to launch our two-wheelers in India." He also revealed that many of their existing dealers here have shown interest in selling these new two-wheelers.

Along with electric scooters, VinFast also plans to launch its electric buses in India next year. The company is already in talks with state transport undertakings of various states including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana for potential orders. As part of its Indian operations, VinFast has already invested $500 million to set up a production plant in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu.
