Volkswagen unveils 2nd generation Atlas SUV to defend US market
Volkswagen just dropped the second-generation Atlas SUV, aiming to keep its spot in the US SUV game.
The new Atlas borrows its platform and exterior style from China's Teramont Pro but keeps that familiar shape fans know.
Notable tweaks? Actual door handles (no more hidden ones) and some bold new color options: Sacramento Green, Blackberry, and Sandstone.
Atlas interior upgraded with 282hp
Inside, you get a big 12.9-inch touchscreen standard (or go even bigger with an optional 15-inch), plus haptic sliders and a real volume knob, finally!
The cabin steps up with real wood accents and Nappa leather choices. There's wireless MagSafe charging, USB-C ports everywhere, and front seats that heat, cool, and even massage.
Power comes from an upgraded 2.0-liter engine pushing out 282hp; you can pick front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Expect prices to start in the mid-$40,000s when it arrives in the fall of 2026. Top trims could reach $55,000.
