Xpeng starts production of flying car with dedicated factory
Aridge, part of Xpeng, has started building its "Land Aircraft Carrier" flying car at a massive new factory in Guangzhou.
This is the world's first dedicated mass-production line for flying cars, aiming to make up to 10,000 units a year.
The first deliveries are set for 2026, and there are already more than 7,000 pre-orders worldwide.
How does the vehicle work?
The vehicle is basically two-in-one: a six-wheeled electric "mothership" that you can drive on regular roads (fits in normal parking spots!) and a detachable eVTOL aircraft.
The ground vehicle fits four people and handles off-road trips easily.
The carbon-fiber aircraft module seats two and can fly either manually or fully autonomously—think auto-landing and route planning.
The plant combines car industry speed with aviation safety standards
Aridge's plant uses five specialized workshops for everything from carbon-fiber parts to final assembly, combining car industry speed with aviation safety standards.
Unlike rivals like Tesla and Alef Aeronautics who are still prototyping, Xpeng is actually rolling these out—with one finished every half hour.
