Amazon to pay €510 million to settle tax dispute with Italy

Amazon just agreed to pay €510 million (about $582 million) to settle a tax dispute with Italy's tax agency.
The move comes after accusations that the company dodged taxes, but here's the twist: Milan prosecutors aren't letting it go and are still digging into possible tax evasion worth around €1.2 billion from 2019-2021.

Even with this big payout, Amazon isn't off the hook yet.
Prosecutors are also investigating two more cases—one about alleged tax evasion from 2021-2024, and another looking into customs and tax fraud tied to Chinese imports.
So, while Amazon might have settled one bill, its business practices in Italy are still getting a lot of attention from local authorities.
