Apple suppliers expand India operations as iPhone exports hit $10B

According to The Economic Times, some vendors are expanding existing facilities while others have begun trial production and even started exporting from newly set-up units. The expansion comes as Apple has reported a record $10 billion in iPhone exports from India during the first half of this fiscal year.

TD Connex plans ₹200 crore investment in Tamil Nadu
Singapore-based TD Connex, which already has a plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, is planning to invest ₹200 crore to expand its facility. The company intends to acquire about 20 acres of land near its existing facility for this purpose. The expansion will focus on micro-precision components with capabilities such as CNC machining, plastic injection molding and metal stamping among other functions related to smartphone housing.

Yuzhan Technology starts operations in Tamil Nadu
Another Apple supplier, Yuzhan Technology, has started operations at its display module assembly unit in Tamil Nadu. The Foxconn subsidiary has begun exporting the assembled display modules to Foxconn factories outside India for certain iPhone models. This development highlights Apple's continued expansion and diversification of its supply chain network in India.
Indian inclusion
Aequs joins Apple's global supply chain
Among Indian suppliers, Karnataka-based Aequs has been officially inducted into Apple's global supply chain. The company has started trial production of MacBook enclosures and mechanical components for Apple Watches. This comes after a regulatory approval in June 2025, when the Central government approved Aequs Infra's proposal to set up an electronics SEZ at the Hubballi Durable Goods Cluster.

Foxconn ramps up hiring in Karnataka
Foxconn, Apple's largest contract manufacturer, is also ramping up hiring at its Devanahalli facility in Karnataka. The site is expected to become one of Foxconn's largest plants globally as Apple strengthens its manufacturing footprint in India. This further emphasizes the tech giant's commitment to expanding its operations and supply chain diversity within the country.
