Google's $32B Wiz acquisition gets DOJ green light

Business

Google just cleared a major hurdle to buy cloud security company Wiz for $32 billion—the US Department of Justice has signed off on the deal.
Wiz's CEO Assaf Rappaport called it a milestone toward making things official, but there are still a few hoops left before the finish line.

Deal 1st offered back in 2024

Talks actually kicked off back in 2024, when Google first offered $23 billion (Wiz said no).
Negotiations picked up again in early 2025 and landed at the current $32 billion price tag announced this March.
The DOJ approval is big, but final closure is expected by early 2026—so stay tuned.
