Indian Motorcycle gets new CEO as brand becomes independent
Carolwood LP tapped Mike Kennedy as CEO of the new Indian Motorcycle company in its October 2025 announcement of the transaction, months before the deal closed and Indian became independent in February 2026.
This move comes as the brand gears up for its 125th anniversary in 2026, with Kennedy bringing over 30 years of industry experience to the table.
New beginnings for Indian Motorcycle and Carolwood
Indian Motorcycle is now charting its own path, aiming to stand out with unique style and solid performance.
With Carolwood LP taking charge, about 900 employees have made the switch too—so it's a fresh start for everyone involved.
Kennedy's got the chops for this role
Kennedy's no stranger to big names—he led dealer networks at Harley-Davidson, drove growth at Vance & Hines, and was recently CEO at RumbleOn.
Basically, he knows bikes inside out.
Manufacturing, R&D locations remain unchanged
Carolwood says they're committed to keeping Indian's signature vibe alive while helping it grow.
Manufacturing stays put in Iowa and Minnesota; R&D continues in Switzerland and Minnesota—so fans can expect more of what makes Indian special.
