NVIDIA's Jensen Huang says US-China chip ban is 'a mistake'

Business

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang just shared that the company's China market share has crashed from 95% to zero, thanks to US export bans.
"We went from 95% market share to 0%. At the moment, we're 100% out of China," he said at an event this month.
Huang called these restrictions "a mistake" and warned they'll hurt both countries.

Chinese companies are now ramping up their own chip efforts

Huang is worried that blocking NVIDIA's advanced AI chips will only push Chinese companies to catch up faster.
He pointed out that half the world's AI researchers are in China, saying it makes no sense for them not to use American tech.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA now expects zero revenue from China and sees any future sales as a bonus, while Chinese firms like Huawei ramp up their own chip efforts.
