Renault launches 2019 Kwid with new features, price remains unchanged
Renault has updated the entire range of Kwid, its best-selling entry-level hatchback, with a new set of features. The car has picked a bunch of safety and convenience capabilities, making up a better offering for buyers. Most importantly, all the upgrades are being offered without any change in price; Kwid still starts at Rs. 2.66 lakh. Here's more about 2019 Renault Kwid.
The new Kwid looks similar to the current generation but brings a number of safety features as standard across all variants. This includes features like Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, driver-side airbag, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, and overspeeding alerts. According to the French automaker, the new model has been designed to comply with safety standards set by the Indian government.
In addition to safety upgrades, 2019 Renault Kwid also offers features for the convenience of drivers and passengers. As part of this, all variants of the hatchback get rearview cameras to make it easier for the drivers to park in tight spaces. Notably, the variants also get a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a 'push to talk' accessibility feature.
Under the hood, Kwid remains pretty much unchanged. The vehicle still comes in two petrol engine options - a 0.8-liter motor capable of producing 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque or a 1-liter unit capable of making 68PS and 91Nm. However, do note that the 0.8-liter option only comes with manual transmission, while the 1-liter option comes with AMT.
The price of Renault Kwid starts at Rs. 2.66 lakh and goes up to Rs. 4.60 lakh for the top model. Also, note that the vehicle will be available in eight variants - four 0.8-liter manual, two 1.0-liter manual, and two 1.0-liter AMT - and six colors, including Fiery Red, Planet Grey, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze and Electric Blue.
