
Delhi, Jaipur to be linked by new 'super expressway'
What's the story
The National Highways Authority of India has initiated the land-acquisition procedure for a new 'super expressway' between Delhi and Jaipur. The expressway is set to reduce the distance between the two cities by approximately 40kms. The total length of the expressway will be 195kms and will have a main carriageway of 6 lanes. Delhi not nearly as 'Swachh' as promised
In 2012, while contesting elections for the municipal corporation of Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party promised that Delhi would be a cleaner city where garbage would be collected, segregated and processed. Most garbage dumps are cleared out only once every 24 hours, due to which garbage overflows onto the streets. The capital city is nearly as dirty as it was 5 years ago.

Delhi's first female ambulance-driver will contest civic polls
35-year-old Twinkle Kalia, who claims to be Delhi's first female ambulance-driver will now contest municipal corporation elections from Kishanganj in North Delhi with a ticket from Swaraj India. Twinkle has been helping the poor and needy to get to hospitals during times of emergency since the last 14 years.

AAP reaches out to voters with digital message from Kejriwal
As a means of reaching out to their voters before the municipal elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has installed projectors and LCD screens in their constituencies to spread CM Arvind Kejriwal's message. All 272 wards are seeing a 20-minute video message from Arvind Kejriwal wherein he blames the BJP and Congress for corruption in the municipalities. Two screens have been assigned to each ward.

Noida Authority CEO seeks detailed planning on waste-management and disposal
Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority, Deepak Agarwal on Monday inspected 3 industrial sectors in Noida. He directed his team of officials to clean up the same on priority basis. According to Noida officials, the CEO has also instructed the health department to create a detailed plan targeting waste disposal in Noida's industrial sectors. Currently, Noida has no scientific ways to tackle industrial waste.

MBA graduate arrested for duping banks, committing fraud
A 30-year-old management graduate from Bihar was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly cheating numerous banks by committing fraud at different ATM machines. The accused, Dinesh Kumar, allegedly embezzled Rs. 22lakh by using ATMs to withdraw money from his own account but tricking the machines into displaying that the transactions were unsuccessful. He would then get a "refund" from banks despite withdrawing cash.
