After traveling 2,500 kms, Delhi Police nab Nigerian criminal

In an escape that can make for a riveting Bollywood plot, a 35-year-old Nigerian criminal was finally nabbed on Saturday after being on the run for ten days. Delhi Police had to travel 2,500 kilometers in his pursuit! The man, Osaretin Ogbuku, was wanted for killing an African national on March 9 in Delhi's Chhatarpur. Cops said that he wanted to abscond to Nepal.

Ogbuku was missing from his Faridabad house after murder

Delhi police initially searched Ogbuku's house in Faridabad, after it was reported at 11 PM on March 9 that he had killed a man during a group clash. The deceased, Hillary alias Harry, was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Center where doctors declared him brought dead. Ogbuku had been absconding since then and was en route to Assam, via Bihar and UP.

Police checkpoints were alerted, cab driver tracked through GPS

After he went missing from Faridabad, cops tracked him down to Jalandhar, Punjab, through technical surveillance. But they failed to find him there. Checkpoints in Bihar and UP were alerted after someone tipped them off that Ogbuku was traveling to Assam in a hired cab. They tracked the driver's cellphone through GPS. Finally, when the cab reached Kishanganj in Bihar, cops nabbed him.

Delhi Police thank Bihar Police for helping them
