What's the story

The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will take place in Goa from November 20-28. The festival will feature gala premieres of several upcoming Hindi films, including Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, Gustaakh Ishq, and Vadh 2. These premieres are expected to be attended by the cast of each film and will be held at Inox Panjim, reported Bollywood Hungama.

Several major titles included in the lineup

The sequel to the popular 2020 Netflix film, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, will kick off the premieres on November 21. The film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, along with Chitrangada Singh, Rajat Kapoor, Deepti Naval, Ila Arun, and Revathy. Gustaakh Ishq, starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, will be screened on November 24. Vadh 2, featuring Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra, is set for a November 23 premiere.

Other major premieres at IFFI

The much-awaited third season of The Family Man will have its premiere on November 21, coinciding with its release. Farhan Akhtar's 120 Bahadur will also premiere on the same day. Dhanush-Kriti Sanon starrer Tere Ishk Mein is set to screen at the festival on November 28, the same day it releases worldwide. Another exciting premiere is Calorie, starring Anupam Kher and Dolly Ahluwalia, which will be screened at IFFI on November 23 before its Canadian release on November 28.

Classic screenings

Screening of cult classics at IFFI

The 56th IFFI will also screen two cult classics, Sholay and 1942: A Love Story. The former is being shown as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations on November 26. The latter will be screened on November 21. Additionally, Zubeen Garg's Sikaar, also starring Adil Hussain, has been chosen for the Mainstream Cinema section alongside Chhaava and Thudarum, etc. It's directed by Debangkar Borghain. Other memorable Hindi films like Rudaali, Umrao Jaan, Gaman, CID, Pyaasa, will also be screened.

Masterclasses, audience interactions to be held at festival

Kesari Chapter 2 will also be screened on November 27, though it's unclear if its director will interact with the audience afterward. The festival will also host masterclass sessions with prominent celebrities like Aamir Khan, Bobby Deol, Rajkumar Hirani, Ramesh Sippy, Anupam Kher, Vishal Bhardwaj, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Shekhar Kapur.
