While one was organized by his first wife Prakash Kaur and their children Sunny, Ajeeta, Vijeta, and Bobby, the other was hosted by his second wife, Hema Malini, and their daughters, Esha and Ahana.

On Thursday, Malini hosted a prayer meeting at her bungalow, while Sunny and Bobby chose a hotel in the city for their gathering. The two events were attended by close family friends and well-wishers. At Malini's home, notable attendees included Sunita Ahuja and her son Yashvardhan. Actor Madhoo was also seen paying her respects. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, Suniel Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sidharth Malhotra were among those who attended the Deols's prayer meet.

Earlier in the day, Malini penned an emotional farewell note for her late husband. She also shared pictures of herself and their daughters with Dharmendra online. In her post, she wrote, "Dharam ji. He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana... he was everything to me!" "My personal loss is indescribable and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life."
