Ace Frehley (74) dies after fall; original KISS guitarist's funeral

Ace Frehley, the legendary guitarist who helped shape KISS's iconic sound, passed away on October 16 at age 74.
According to New Jersey's Morris County Medical Examiner, he died from a head injury after an accidental fall in his studio. He was hospitalized with a brain bleed and placed on life support before his passing.
Family, friends, and original KISS bandmates gathered in the Bronx to remember him, with his family reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements and sharing that Ace's memory "will continue to live on forever."

Legacy and career achievements

Frehley co-founded KISS in 1973 and became famous for his bold guitar style and wild stage effects—think pyrotechnics and glowing guitars.
His solo debut went platinum in 1978, and he reunited with KISS for their big comeback from 1996 to 2002.
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, Ace leaves behind a legacy that still inspires guitarists today.
He is survived by his daughter Monique and ex-wife Jeanette Trerotola.
