    It was a big Saturday night in Guwahati for Ranveer Singh and his film Gully Boy, as the movie swept the 2020 Filmfare awards in all the major categories. Ranveer, who won the Best Actor award for his performance as street rapper Murad in the movie, expressed his happiness upon receiving the trophy from the "one and only" Madhuri Dixit.     'A very special moment that I'll never forget'

    Taking to his Instagram account, Ranveer shared a picture of himself with Madhuri from the stage last night, writing, "A very special moment that I'll never forget." "Receiving the Filmfare Best Actor trophy from one of the Greats..Legend of the silver screen..the one and only Madhuri Dixit Nene. Etched in my heart forever (sic)," the actor added.

    'Gully Boy' took home as many as 13 awards

    Meanwhile, Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy remained the undisputed champion at the 65th Filmfare awards, bagging as many as 13 awards, the most for a single movie at the Filmfare ever. Interestingly, Ranveer's co-star in the movie, Alia Bhatt was awarded the Best Actress. Notably, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Amruta Subhash also won in the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories for Gully Boy.

    Soon after the win, Ranveer video-called Zoya Akhtar

    Soon after his movie took the award night by storm, Ranveer took the opportunity to video call Zoya Akhtar, who couldn't make it to the ceremony. Sharing a screenshot from the call on his Instagram, the actor wrote, "Look at that face!!!".

    The 2020 Filmfare Awards were held in Guwahati

    The 2020 Filmfare awards were held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, Assam on Saturday night. This was the first time that the venue for the award ceremony was shifted out of Mumbai. Filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Vicky Kaushal hosted the ceremony. Other movies who won big were Article 15 and Saand Ki Aankh, Sonchiriya, and Kabir Singh.
