    What's the story

    Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9, with a prize money of Rs. 7cr, premiered on 28 August 2017, but the game show didn't see a big winner until yesterday.

    Jamshedpur's Anamika Mazumdar, a social worker, finally broke the jinx to become the first crorepati of the ninth season.

    The grand episode, shot on 29 September, would reportedly air next month.

    A source from the show said: "Anamika was a very practical and reasonable kind of a person who took each question very seriously. When she reached the crore mark, even with no lifeline left, she reasoned all the options before choosing the right answer."

    Anamika runs NGO for uplifting women in Jharkhand

    Anamika runs "Faith in India" NGO that works for the upliftment of women in Jharkhand, especially in rural areas.

    She was accompanied by her mother on KBC.

    Anamika had no lifelines left when she reached the Rs. 1cr question, still she decided to go ahead and gave the correct answer using her reasoning skills.

    Anamika would use the prize money for empowering women.

    A source said: "It was her (Anamika's) knowledge and reasoning skills that made her win. Both women (Anamika, her mother) were left in tears with happiness and excitement. It was a big moment of joy for the entire team as they finally got their crorepati."

    Anamika quit the Rs. 7 crore question

    After winning the Rs. 1cr prize money, Anamika decided to go for the jackpot Rs. 7cr question.

    However, she decided to quit as she had no idea about it. Even Big B lauded her decision not to take a huge risk.

    Meanwhile, badminton champion PV Sindhu also shot for the episode yesterday, as part of KBC's special Friday episodes.
