What's the story

The 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism were held on Saturday night at the Eka Arena in Ahmedabad. The event celebrated the best of Hindi cinema with several Bollywood celebrities in attendance. Arijit Singh made history by winning his eighth Best Male Playback Singer award for Sajni from Laapataa Ladies, joining the late Kishore Kumar in this achievement.

Singh had previously won the Best Male Playback Singer award for Tum Hi Ho (2014), Sooraj Dooba Hai (2016), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2017), Roke Na Ruke Naina (2018), Ae Watan (2019), Kalank (2020) and Kesariya (2023). Kumar, meanwhile, won it for Roop Tera Mastana (1970), Dil Aisa Kisi Ne Mera (1976), Khaike Paan Banaras Wala (1979), Hazaar Raahen Mudke Dekheen (1981), Pag Ghungroo Baandh (1983), Agar Tum Na Hote (1984), Manzilein Apni Jagah Hain (1985), and Saagar Kinaare (1986).

Kartik Aaryan wins Best Actor for 'Chandu Champion'

Kartik Aaryan won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Chandu Champion at the 70th Filmfare Awards. He shared the honor with Abhishek Bachchan for I Want To Talk. In his acceptance speech, Aaryan expressed his gratitude and described Chandu Champion as "the best journey" of his acting career. The film was directed by Kabir Khan and is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist.
