Why will Ayushmann Khurrana skip his next, 'Dream Girl' promotions?
Ayushmann Khurrana's career is on a roll these days. After delivering back-to-back hits (Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho and Article 15) and winning a National Award, he is now gearing up for the release of Dream Girl. However, ahead of that, Ayushmann has decided to take a break from his busy schedule. Reportedly, he has flown to Austria and is likely to skip the initial promotions.
Reportedly, the Badhaai Ho actor left for the destination on August 24, with wife Tahira Kashyap. "Ayushmann had been looking forward to the break as he has worked continuously for the last six months. They will be exploring the scenic Salzburg and Altaussee", a source told Mumbai Mirror. The media reports also suggested that the couple would be returning to Mumbai after a week.
Notably, Tahira gave a glimpse of their much-needed vacation on Instagram, as she posed happily with her husband. "We literally had the best of both the worlds. There were the best of highs and the best of lows too! Though my heart is full of gratitude for both and I don't know how to explain that! But I needed this calm," she wrote.
Vacationing after a loooong time. Last year was tough! We literally had the best of both the worlds 🙈 There were the best of highs and the best of lows too! Though my heart is full of gratitude for both and I don’t know how to explain that! But I needed this calm. This time. This peace. Life is beautiful with you @ayushmannk ❤️ #gratitude #nofilter
2018 was indeed a tough year for the couple, given Tahira's cancer detection. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago, and has been actively sharing details about her battle on social media. Tahira, who lost her hair due to the ailment, recently shared pictures of her bald look on Instagram. "Bald is beautiful," she wrote in the caption.
On the work front, cancer-survivor Tahira is all set to make her directorial debut. Although the project was announced last year, it was stalled owing to her treatment. However, Tahira will reportedly resume the project after the Austria vacation. "Now, she is doing pretty good with the treatment. Once they are back in Mumbai, Tahira will continue to fine-tune the script," the source added.
On the other hand, Ayushmann, whose last release was Article 15, will now be seen in Dream Girl on September 13. He will also be seen in an upcoming sequel to his 2017 release, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Titled as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, the movie is a gay comedy, and will be helmed by Aanand L. Rai.
