Bombay HC orders private screening of 'Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale'
Entertainment
The Bombay High Court has called for a private screening of the Marathi film Punha Shivajiraje Bhosale on October 20, 2025.
This move comes after Everest Entertainment claimed the movie is being promoted as a sequel to their 2009 hit Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy—without their okay.
Here's why the court got involved
Back in 2008, Everest and Ashwami Films teamed up on the original movie, but by 2013, Everest had secured all rights.
When Everest found out earlier this year that Ashwami's director Mahesh Manjrekar was working on what looked like a sequel, they raised concerns and took it to court.
Now, Justice Somasekhar Sundareshan has ordered the private screening and said Everest can take further legal steps if they're still unhappy after watching.
